Privacy Policy

When you use Porchlight, we may collect:

• Account information: Name, email address, and password when you sign up.
• Profile information: Family details you choose to share, such as children's ages and schools attended.
• Location data: Approximate neighborhood location to connect you with nearby families. We do not store precise real-time GPS data.
• Usage data: How you interact with the app, to help us improve the experience.
• Device information: Device type and operating system for app functionality and push notifications.

We use your information to:

• Provide and operate the Porchlight app and services.
• Connect you with families in your school community.
• Send push notifications you opt into.
• Improve and develop the product.
• Respond to support requests.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.

Your information is shared only as follows:

• Within your school community: Your name and availability status are visible to other verified members of your school community on Porchlight.
• Service providers: We use trusted third-party services (including Supabase for infrastructure) that process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality obligations.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect safety.

You can delete your Stoop account and all associated data at any time:

1. Open the Stoop app on your phone.
2. Tap the menu icon in the top-left corner of the home screen.
3. Tap Profile.
4. Scroll to the Account section.
5. Tap Delete account and confirm.

Account deletion is immediate and permanent. We delete your profile, family members, communities you created, gatherings you proposed, signals you posted, buddy connections, and tags. Some data may be retained in encrypted backups for up to 30 days for disaster recovery, after which it is fully deleted. We do not retain personal data for any longer.

If you no longer have access to the app, you can request account deletion by emailing privacy@porchlight.community from the email address associated with your account. We will respond and complete the deletion within 7 days.
